Welcome to the Minety Toddler and Baby Group page, we hope you enjoy your visit!

We are a friendly group of people with children under the age of three in our care - parents, grandparents, childminders, nannies, au pairs - who meet up once a week in Minety Village Hall. We welcome anyone from the local area who is able to come along on a Thursday morning from 09.30 to 11.30, all year round.

We have a committee of current members who volunteer to run the group each year. Nobody is paid to manage the group and we aim to keep things as informal as possible so that anyone who would like to be invloved can be. Some enjoy taking on the various roles - for example chairperson, secretary, treasurer, shopper (and we should proabably add website maintenance in here too!) - while others enjoy having a couple of hours per week with no responsibility at all! We do however have a weekly duty rota where we take it in turns to set out the toys and make the tea. We hope that most people will take their turn with this once they are coming regularly. The more people who help out, the less often your turn comes around! There are always two people on duty together so there's always help at hand.

The cost per session is £1.80 per family (first session is free). This money is used to cover the hire of the Village Hall, for refreshments, replacement toys, art and craft materials and insurance. Obviously attendance varies over the year with quiet and busy spells so sometimes we need to undertake fund raising activities.

Over the years the group has been run in slightly different ways and it is entirely up to the members at any given time to decide how they want to do things. Everyone is welcome to get involved as much or as little as they choose. If there's something you'd like to discuss or suggest, there is always someone from the committee available at each session. We have been running for many years now and always welcome fresh ideas and new members as we hope the group will run for many more years to come.
